Raw rice/idli rice – 1 cup
Urad dal – 1/2 cup
Fenugreek/ uluva whole – 1/4 tsp
Cooked rice – 1/4 cup
Salt/ rock salt – as needed
Water – as needed
Method of preparation
- Wash and soak the raw rice for 3-4 hours.
- Wash and soak the urad dal and fenugreek together and let it soak for 3-4 hours.
- Grind the urad dal and fenugreek together with minimum water to a smooth paste.
- Move it a container for storage.
- Grind the raw rice with salt n water to a smooth paste. Use the water used to soak the urad dal and fenugreek for grinding.
- Add the cooked rice n grind to a smooth consistency.
- Move the batter to the urad dal mixture and mix in folding pattern with clean hands.
- Cover and let it ferment for 8 -10 hours or overnight.
